It’s not necessarily the amount of layers that determines the overall performance of corrugate but the strength of the materials used in construction. You can specify the same amount of ‘beef’ at a lower cost plus reducing material usage. When we specify the construction of a master carton, we make sure to identify both a Mullen or “Burst” strength and the Edge Crush Test or “ECT” so you can be assured to receive the material specs you asked for.
